Féile Brian Ború takes place over five days in the twin towns of Killaloe & Ballina to commemorate Ireland’s Greatest High King in his native place. The event programme includes a diverse range of events with something to suit everyone.
On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July children are invited to join We Heart Art for Brian Ború’s Art Adventures.
The Art and Adventure workshops are designed to create positive and fun experiences for the participating children, with many hands-on formats including role play, crafts and building in nature to encourage a greater understanding of our heritage. The workshops will be linked to Brian Ború and the local heritage, including design and making of clan flags, kings crown and fairy head-dress making, shield making, and Viking jewellery making.
Families are also invited to Build a Fort at the Fort. Families can come together at Brian Ború’s Fort to design, build and decorate a Fort from old sheets/material and from items found in the surroundings, such as branches, sticks, moss, etc.
These forts will be judged with prizes being awarded for the best ones.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
