Feile Lachtain- Ionad Lachtain Programme of Events 2023

A programme of events consisting of cultural and artistic events celebrating culture, heritage - tangible, intangible and natural and arts in our local community.There will be a range of  music, visual arts and heritage centred folkloric lectures and events with a three-fold strategy of engagement, entertainment and education highlighted by the loan of the Shrine of St. Lachtain’s Arm from the National Museum of Ireland and the Art exhibitions.

March- 26th March Tree Replanting “The Bishops Tree” which fell in the 1950. Legend has it that 7 bishops were hanged from this tree in Cromwell’s time, but story more correctly dates from time of Vikings.

April- Ecumenical Easter Saturday / Lighting of Easter Fire Procession of Easter fire, invitation to Ukrainian Community to attend and participate.

15th  April: Launch of La Lachtain
