Floating Voices Intergenerational Arts Programme
Floating Voices Intergenerational Arts Programme is a ground-breaking project that aims to foster connections between older and younger generations through a shared appreciation of the Waterford’s rich maritime history and the biodiversity of the River Suir.
This innovative arts initiative partners older and younger individuals, enabling them to work together through facilitated workshops with experienced artists. In these workshops, the participants will co-design a mural artwork which incorporates their ideas and this design will then be painted as a large scale mural artwork in Waterford City.
As part of this programme, Street Art Ink will present a video with interviews with the participants and their experience of working through the creative process. This video can be accessed through QR codes at the base of each artwork for the wider public to view and understand.
By bringing people of different ages together to learn, create, and share their experiences, Floating Voices is poised to leave a lasting impact on both the participants and the wider community, fostering a deeper appreciation for Waterford's rich cultural heritage and the natural world.
