Forget me not choir is a well-established event that meets twice a month. Initially founded to support people with Alzheimer’s & dementia, it now welcomes service users & people from all walks of life.

Musician AnneMarie Hynes and Maura O'Brien, with a support team of volunteers from Monksland Community Centre, Athlone, will lead the choir in twice monthly meetings. 

We are using song, music, and movement as a medium to bring people together and sing for wellness and fun. Young people will be invited to join throughout the Summer, to further enrich our diversity and social cohesion. 

The choir has been shown to be enriching for individual services users and their carers who attend. Numbers continue to grow, showing the need for this type of community project. 

The choir meet in Monksland, on the border of Westmeath and Roscommon. They are supported by both counties Creative Ireland teams, and members from both regions are welcome to join.
