This project will engage two groups of people, a group of older people in the community and a group of TY students, in a series of themed conversations that will lift the lid on the “grey ceiling” and provide a public voice for the older generation who are becoming more and more socially isolated because of the rapid developments in technology as the go-to medium of communication.
A series of workshops will prepare both groups to examine, develop and prepare their “conversations” for a public sharing.
This project is unique and innovative and will have a lasting impact on participants. Neither group, despite living in the same community, have an opportunity to collaborate and share ideas so this project will have a lasting positive effect not just within the project but on a day to day basis as well. It will open the lines of communication, break down barriers and stimulate new relationships and understanding.
