Half Speed Trad invites local musicians to dust off those old instruments and join us for our half speed trad sessions where a number of pre-selected tunes will be played at half speed and all participants are free to use notes or sheet music as desired. We welcome musicians from the ages of 18 upwards. 

Our half speed trad sessions will be expertly led by members of Tuam Comhaltas, who will also select familiar tunes for us all to play.

Half Speed Trad will involve 5 in-person sessions on Friday April 26th, May 31st, June 28th, July 26th and August 30th from 8-9pm in The Ard Rí House Hotel, Tuam. Participants will also receive a link to play along practice videos, produced by FUSE specifically for these half speed sessions. Each participant will also receive a custom designed and printed resource booklet which includes notes, sheet music and handy guides to musical terms and techniques.

Through our Half Speed Trad programme, FUSE will also be offering two workshops with Atlantic Irish Dance Academy where participants will be invited to learn the basics of Sean Nós dancing at half speed. These workshops will take place in The Mall Theatre, Tuam on Sunday May 19th and July 31st from 2-3pm.
