Galway Wandering Kite Festival

Oughterard, Co. Galway will be the location for the first Galway Wandering Kite Festival. On Bank Holiday Monday October 25th, the skies will be alive with beautifully colourful kites flown by some of the world’s most renowned kite-flyers. Back on the ground there will be music, food, as well as kite-making workshops on the day with all materials supplied. In the build up to the festival, a kite artist will engage with the local community to design and build their own kites to fly at the Festival adding a flavour of Oughterard to the colourful displays.

Bring your picnic rug and soak up the atmosphere! There will be plenty of opportunities for get involved including an amateur photography competition on the day for attendees who submit their kite flying images, videos and designs on Galway Wandering Kite Festival’s social media pages during the festival!

Galway Wandering Kite Festival encourages people to have fun, get active and come together in creativity! The Festival is a collaboration between the Arts Office, Tourism Office and the Community Development Office of Galway County Council.

Galway Wandering Kite Festival runs from 12pm - 5pm on Monday 25th October 2021 in Oughterard AFC, Newvillage, Oughterard, Co. Galway. Ticket holders only. This event is weather-pending.
