Ghost House: The Wexford Edition

Wellbeing is a key theme for the Ghost House project. The idea of home is different for everyone. For some it is a place of peace and refuge and for others it is a situation of trauma and fear. Both sides of this experience have spiritual connotations, informed by non-physical atmospheres that are linked to the space’s history of human activity. Consequently, our relationship with home directly impacts our mental health and wellbeing. Ghost House seeks to generate a creative response to what arises from the transcendental occurrences experienced in the home, offering mental clarity to what was previously unexplained.

Ghost House will record oral testimony from people who have had paranormal, supernatural or unexplained experiences in their homes. After the sharing of stories takes place, a series of collaborative writing workshops that explore the issues and themes raised will be conducted with participants. The workshops will culminate with a public reading and showcase of the writing and oral recordings that have been developed. A zine that documents the creative outcomes will be distributed to the public via the local library services.
