"Goldsmith Live” Family Day
The Oliver Goldsmith Festival celebrates its 40th anniversary festival this year from June 31st to June 2nd. A specially written and performed piece has been commissioned based on Goldsmith’s life and works to mark this.
This performance named “The Misadventures of Oliver Goldsmith” will be the centrepiece of the “Goldsmith Live” Family Day on Saturday, June 1st. Based on Goldsmith’s often chaotic life, this new play charts his youthful adventures and travels and his rise to prominence in the London literary scene.
This free event also comprises a string quartet recital by “Simply Strings”, poetry readings, food, drinks, stalls, and visiting celebrities in a themed and designed 18th-century village setting.
It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon for all the family.
