The Goldsmith Festival has been running since 1985 and is the third longest running literary festival in the country. In 2018, we began running a winter festival around the time of Goldsmith’s birthday. This, the fourth Goldsmith Winter Festival will be held in Co. Westmeath in the renowned Goldsmith associated venue of the Three Jolly Pigeons, Tang, Co. Westmeath.
Depending on the Covid-19 situation, the event will be hosted either live, online or a combination of both. It will comprise pre-recorded and live contributions of locally hosted, talks lectures, readings and recitals.
The event will provide an opportunity for local writers and performers to showcase their work. The event also will promote interest in the literary heritage of Oliver Goldsmith.
