Helium Arts Community Summer Art Camps
Helium Arts empowers children with lifelong health conditions through creativity and the arts, giving them an opportunity for connection, belonging, imagination and joy.
Firstly, we will run a Community Summer art programme in Westside Library, Galway providing an intensive programme to 16 children aged 8-12 living with lifelong physical health conditions. Funding would allow Helium to run 6 art workshops over 3 days during July with 8-10 children participating in each camp & would go towards costs for art materials, venue hire, medical support, & artist fees.
Secondly, we have an artist present in the Outpatient clinics who provides art activities for children while they wait for their medical appointments reaching approximately 425 children over 5 months.
We will refer children from the hospital to our Summer programme with a focus on increasing the number of participating children from disadvantaged backgrounds to 50%.
