Celebrating Brigid with the community in Gort. 

This family friendly event will be held on Saturday the 3rd February in Hennelly's Haggard, a partly covered market area in the town. It will be preceded by a procession and events staged by the Gort Arts Group. in celebration of Brigid.

HERSELF 
A public screening of Herself, celebrating Brigid, nature and women will take place in Gort Inse Guaire. This 15min film consists of moving portraits with an evocative soundscape. It was created by Shona MacGillivray and Jill Beardsworth with local community consultation in 2023 for the new national Brigid celebrations.  

CLOAK OF RENEWAL 
In the spirit of honouring St. Brigid's legacy and drawing inspiration from her legendary act of acquiring land for her monastery, Lisa Della Chiesa’s performance artwork, aims to weave a narrative that resonates with the contemporary struggle for environmental preservation.  
Accompanying the visual spectacle is a live DJ mix, personally curated to complement the unfolding narrative.
