Home Forms: Memory, Shape & Place is a multidisciplinary arts project exploring the meaning of “home” through painting, sculpture, textiles, and community workshops in Westmeath. Engaging two local groups, it invites shared reflection on memory, belonging, and place, culminating in collaborative artworks and a public exhibition.

Led by artist Orla Galligan and developed in collaboration with local participants, the project invites the community to actively engage in creative making, culminating in a shared public outcome shaped by local voices. Rooted in both personal and collective experience, the project is situated in Westmeath, where the artist’s maternal family originates. This connection informs an exploration of how ideas of “home” evolve across time, memory and place. 

Participants will engage in accessible workshops, encouraging reflection on what home means today - whether as safety, aspiration, fragility or displacement. Community involvement includes hands-on workshops, opportunities to contribute to a collective artwork, and participation in a final public sharing event. The project supports wellbeing, creativity and connection, ensuring broad access and meaningful engagement throughout.
