Horizons will work to support positive ageing and mitigate the negative impact of cocooning by supporting vulnerable older persons & their carers to stay connected and engaged through a creative activity and re-acquaint themselves with the act of meeting up while working with writers to enable them to voice their experience of the social isolation felt in the last year and to share their own stories and creativity.

This Writer in Residence Programme with writer Arnold Thomas Fanning will begin by working with buddy pods of 2/4/6 depending on guidelines. Over a 5-month period Arnold will mentor and work with vulnerable isolated older persons to bring out their own creativity in an engaging and improvised way encouraging them to participate both online but importantly in person in a safe outdoor Community Garden Environment.
