Beidh maisitheoir proifisiúnta, Valeria Weerasinghe, atá tar éis obair le Cartoon Saloon, i mbun cheardlanna maisiúcháin leis na páistí ar líne trí Zoom. Taispeánfaidh sí dos na páistí conas an scéal a bhaineann le gnéithe agus logainmneacha ina gceantair áitiúla a thaispeáint trí léaráidí cartúin. This project encourages primary school children (5th & 6th class primarily) to think about their local history and what gives them a
sense of place, by illustrating their local placenames. Professional illustrator, Valeria Weerasinghe, who has worked with Cartoon Saloon on the Emmy award winning Puffin Rock cartoon, will provide online interactive workshops over Zoom showing students how to create illustrations using some of the features and placenames in their local area that tell the story of their town or village. Teaching children the Irish language origins of the placenames will form part of the project.
