Cluain Lir Community Nursing Unit is an HSE funded Nursing Home facilitating the long term care of residents aged 18yrs and above but is predominantly for older persons. 

Inside Out will engage Photographic Artist (Emma O’Brien) to collaborate with the HSE Artist (Lucy Tormey), Activity Co-ordinators (Karina Browne, Ruth Donoghue and Isobel Ryan RN Daycare), and residents of long stay and day care facilities to produce an outdoor photographic and digital art exhibition reflecting the lives of people from our community who live in care and who avail of day care support.

The project aims to capture stories of lives past and/or present, making a visual statement that contains a strong level visual story telling through photography and digital art.

The project proposes to work with a core group of 8 - 10 Residents sharing stories of their lives; though objects, artefacts and relevant items such as writings and personal effects. The aim is to produce a series photographic and visual art story boards that will be displayed permanently in the outdoor garden areas of the Nursing Home and will also have the ability to be transported for exhibition and display in gallery settings.
