Inspire: The Art of Storytelling

Clare County Childcare Committee, Creative Ireland Clare and the Local Creative Youth Partnership collaborate to present workshops for children aged 2½ to 5 years.

Children will be welcomed into libraries to hear the voices of preschool children, which were recorded earlier this year by artist, John Lillis, in Funscoil, Carrigaholt, Burren Sonas Kindergarten and Teach Spraoi, Toonagh. The aim of this programme, which began in 2019, is to hear the stories that young children are telling us through their play.

On the day, children will have the opportunity to participate in short drawing workshops as they listen to the voices of their peers. As part of this ongoing storytelling initiative, the children’s conversations will be recorded throughout.

The workshops will occur in three libraries in October:

Kilkee, Sweeney Memorial Public Library, Wednesday, October 5th. 10:00 am and 11:00 am

Ennis, De Valera Library, Friday, October 14th 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Corofin Library, Friday, October 21st 10:00 am to 11:00 am
