Interconnections Fibre Arts Festival
Interconnections is a biennale exhibition of hand woven, contemporary, fine art tapestries from Ireland and Scotland, curated by Frances Crowe and Joan Baxter. This is the fourth collaboration between the two countries, bringing a focus on handwoven tapestries as an art form. Throughout the International fibre art festival there will be a series of workshops, talks, and tours. Exhibiting artists are Terry Dunne, Angela Forte, Mary Cuthbert and Frances Crowe. Interconnections is supported by Roscommon County Council, Roscommon Local Enterprise Office & Creative Ireland.
The festival weekend kicks off on Thursday April 28th with the launch of “Slow time with a butterfly”, an exhibition by the members of Contemporary tapestry artists Ireland in King House, Boyle, County Roscommon. April 29th we will launch Interconnections 4 in Roscommon arts centre. On Saturday April 30th we will host a symposium with invited guest speakers, on the theme of “Redefining Tapestry”. On Sunday May 1st a series of workshops will take place.
