Athy Sing & Sign will organise an ISL Festival in Athy from 30th Sept to 2nd Oct. This festival we will have an array of events celebrating Deaf community, Deaf Culture and arts. All events will be 100% ISL accessible.
 

Theme of Festival is ‘Wellness Within’

The festival will open on the 30th of September with a drama performance by Dublin Deaf Theatre group and performance artist Amanda Coognan. This drama will take place in the Athy Arts Community centre.

With Kildare Sports Partnership a walk/cycle will be organised on the blue way.

Saturday workshops will consist of the following: 

Art workshops
The CUBE event
Tour of Shackleton museum
Talk with photographer John Minihan (TBC)
Make/bind a book
Art workshop with Johnny Corcoran
Art workshop with John Canning
Launch the positivity path art exhibition on the square
Film French movie – We hope to showcase  2014 film La Famille Belier, which is the original French-language film, from which CODA was adapted,

Sunday workshops will consist of the following:

Wellness workshop with Kiera Geaoghan
Boat tours in ISL
History Tour with Deaf Historian
Meet & Greet with Deaf & hearing youth
Sing & Sign Along  Social
