This project is the production of a dual language publication featuring wonderful evocative photographs from the Chambers Albums, which capture the rugged landscape and simplicity of island life in 1930s Ireland.

The similarity of life on different islands along the west coast, from the Great Blasket in Co. Kerry, to the Aran Islands in Co. Galway and Árainn Mhór in County Donegal, is captured by George Chambers, a visiting Englishman, with sensitivity, grace and humour.
