‘It’s A Drawda Thing’ is a music recording project taking place in Boomerang Youth Cafe and co-ordinated by the Basement Sounds team in Drogheda. A fantastic new sound booth and studio has been built in the basement space at the cafe, and this space will be used to record 12 to 15 young people from the ages of 12 to 20. The group will comprise singers and performers from several youth organisations and schools in Drogheda and the surrounding areas.
The aim of the project is to help young people explore their own creativity, lyricism, musicianship and recording skills throughout the recording process. The project will also include performers from several creative organisations in Drogheda, making ‘It’s A Drawda Thing’ a collaborative community arts project. The resulting album will be professionally mixed and mastered and will be made available across all streaming platforms, with a live showcase accompanying the launch of the album.
Further information will be available on the Boomerang website as the project progresses. The date of the live performance will be posted here over the next few weeks.
