Keeping the past Alive
Tony Malone is a local musician, with his love for singing and playing the bodhrán known by many across Carlow Carlow and beyond. Our heritage and our culture were passed down through the generations by the oral tradition and central to that was the Rambling House Sessions. The Seanchaís and the Singers were the people who passed down the tales and the values to new generations. Tony Malone is a modern hero of that Rambling House oral tradition, with a range of songs that reflect the culture of our ancestors, sung with a voice that captures the ancient flame.
Tont has a large repertoire of songs, many well known and many not so known. He has researched the origin of many of his songs, especially the lesser well known ones and regularly passes on his knowledge to his audience. Tony has complied a CD of 21 songs. The CD will be distributed around Carlow and beyond for €10 a piece, with all proceeds going towards towards a local charity here in Carlow
