Kilkenny Witch trial second tour
Journey Through Time and seize the chance to explore our deep and dark heritage.
The Kilkenny Witchcraft Trial Second Tour!
Step into a time capsule and experience the living history of Kilkenny’s most intriguing tale—the Witchcraft Trial of 1324. Join us as we bring the past to life, visiting the very spots where history was made!
Our adventure begins in the storied streets of Kilkenny City, led by the knowledgeable Fin Dwyer. We’ll then travel to the enchanting Kells Priory, a site that whispers of medieval mysteries and is intrinsically linked to our tale.
At St. Canice’s Cathedral, stand amidst the power and piety of Bishop Richard Ledrede, and ponder the fates of those entwined in the trial. Here, history’s shadows loom over the tombs of Ledrede and Jose Kyteler.
Our path then takes us through the heart of medieval Kilkenny, pausing to soak in the atmosphere of ancient buildings like St. Francis’ Priory and Kyteler’s Inn, each with its own story to tell.
The final chapter unfolds at Kilkenny Castle, where the drama of the trial reached its peak, and history was forever changed.
