Le Chéile - Crooked House Theatre
A Project by Crooked House Theatre
Le Chéile will harness the power of live theatre to spur social change by bringing the lived experience of young people with disabilities to the stage in County Kildare, with performances for the public as well as stakeholders including educators, social workers, and policy makers.
Le Chéile is a continuation of Crooked House’s collaborative programme with KARE, a support organisation for people with disabilities, with whom they have run drama workshops for the past 18 months.
Crooked House is a theatre-making organisation established in 1993 in Newbridge in County Kildare, Ireland. They make theatre with, for and by young people from the ages of 11 to 21 and members of the greater community in Newbridge. They train young people aged 21 to 30 in Drama Facilitation and support others to audition for acting college. Participation in all their activities is free and open to anyone. Their work is inspired by tolerance, equality, social justice, compassion, and empathy. Crooked House aims to create theatre that is ambitious, challenging, aesthetically engaging, and relevant to their audiences.
This developmental project will culminate in public performances, to take place in June 2026. For more information, visit Crooked House's website or contact them at info@crookedhouse.ie
