Legacies - Stories from the Civil War
The 3rd part of The Remembrance Trilogy examining the civil war in Louth.
The first part ‘An Easter Service’ took place in 2016, looking at the events of the Rising. The second part ‘Women of Independence’ took place in 2021.
We have worked with researcher Brendan McSherry to discover Louth’s stories of the period, and are now working with a group of Upstate Theatre Project’s community actors towards a production re-examining the war.
As with the previous projects this will be a community theatre piece devised over the course of the year with a staged production in December in the Oriel Gaol along with a video recording of the theatre piece which will be streamed and available to watch.
This piece will specifically deal with stories from the Civil War as told from the perspective of individuals and places local to Louth.
Information and a link to the streamed performance in December will be available on An Táin Arts Centre website closer to the time.
