Library Winter project

The Library Winter Project is a program of events that includes Halloween story-telling, STEAM Space Kite workshops for Science Week and winter arts and crafts.

Storyteller Pat Ryan will entertain children aged 5 plus and their adult family members with Silly Spooks and Goofy Ghouls - traditional folk and fairy tales for Hallowe’en

Go Fly Your Kite will deliver two Science Week Space Kite workshops suitable for children 8-11 years old. These workshops will be offered to local schools in Baldoyle. Children will get the opportunity to design, colour, build and fly a space themed kite, while learning about the lunar landing space race!

Kim Jenkinson will facilitate two winter-themed children's art workshops. Using a mix of natural materials, fabric and paper, participants will create a family of snowy tawney owls in their nests. Using felt, wool, ribbons and bells, children will make colourful Christmas gnomes to decorate their homes. Suitable for children aged 7 - 10 years.

Aoife Munn's Make your own Christmas Wreath workshops will show adults how to create their own Scandinavian style wreath using natural materials such as off cuts from Christmas trees, evergreens, hydrangea heads, holly and seed heads cones.

All these workshops are free but booking is required. Booking is though contacting the library hosting the workshop.
