Linking The Déise

Linking The Déise is a collaborative project led by LINC Waterford that will promote the Creative Ireland Waterford Open Call 2021 key themes of collaboration, communication, community, participation, inclusivity, empowerment and innovation.

Engaging aspects of tourism, the arts and community development, Linking The Déise aims to be cross-sectoral in its approach. The project is being run by LINC Waterford, a community outreach programme supporting lesbian and bisexual women in County Waterford coordinated by LINC and supported by the LGBTI+ Community Services Fund 2020.

Led by LINC Waterford Community Development Worker Alison Martin, Linking The Déise invites members of Waterford’s lesbian and bisexual community to engage in a series of creative workshops (virtually and/or within current safety guidelines) that would lead to the creation of a piece of art (poem, song, monologue or story, for example) linked to a place the participant loves in Waterford.

Each participant’s piece will be created in response to the piece by the person ahead of them in the line-up of the virtual or ‘real-life’ event marking the end of the project. This will culminate in a daisy-chain effect, generating a collaborative arts piece linking the Déise.
