'Covid Care Concerts' is a new project that has been devised by the Mobile Music Machine (MMM) in response to the many social challenges presented by Covid 19. MMM have been delivering high quality music education and care home visits throughout Ireland since 2007. Formed by critically acclaimed Dublin cellist Gerald Peregrine, the group brings together the finest musicians in Ireland to deliver world class workshops and concerts and have presented our workshops to over 55,000 children to date.

As a response to the current crisis, MMM have organised visits to hospitals in Dublin, St John of God's and St Joseph's dementia care home, where the musicians perform (at an appropriate social distance from each other), in the garden.  The residents and staff gather in the garden or listen through open windows and doors. These concerts have been a great success, particularly at a time when families are not in a position to visit and the residents have lost access to all their occupational therapy such as arts, crafts and music. Covid Care concerts Kilkenny will see the Mobile Music Machine deliver 10 concerts over 5 days in 10 separate venues.
