In partnership with Longford County Council Regeneration Unit, an adult disability group, the autism unit of the local primary school and the new Community Library (which is being built in the centre of Edgeworthstown), a sensory garden will be created which will offer a quiet creative space as part of the regeneration of the town. It will be a space for adults and children to meet and be creative. 

The Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival takes place each year to honour one of the counties best known writers and the new Library and sensory garden will be the focal point of the festival.
