Mayo County Council Art Collection has over 200 pieces, including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture and mixed-media works, by artists from or living in Mayo, or who have exhibited in the county. This project will facilitate a process of creative engagement between Kids’ Own, a professional artist, and two groups of children in County Mayo based on works from the Mayo County Council Collection. Through a meaningful, child-led process, Kids’ Own will support these groups of children in thinking about, responding to, and asking questions of some of the works in the collection. These groups of children will collaborate with Kids’ Own to create a new educational resource for children by children.
