Mayo Scéal Trail is an outside story walk that everyone can enjoy! A scéal trail or story walk is a book delivered in an exhibition format that you can follow, from beginning to end, as you walk with your family or friends. The story, printed on weather proof display boards, will initially be displayed in Turlough Park – a beautiful walk and woodlands surrounding the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, near Castlebar. The story boards will be mounted on wooden stakes, or attached to existing fencing where suitable. The story boards will be portable, and can be moved in the future to other walking locations in Mayo. The story chosen for Mayo’s Scéal Trail is Granuaile by John & Fatti Burke.
