Waterford Integration Services with support from Creative Ireland and within the context of the development of the Waterford Cultural Quarter is seeking to develop a Creative Social Enterprise Programme for local migrant communities, which provides business opportunities, qualifications and financial independence through creative expression of cultural identities. The programme’s creative output delivering animation for the WCQ through vibrant culturally-embedded products and services, enhancing the creative capabilities of our new communities in the sustainable development of their neighbourhood.
The pilot project forms part of a sustainable long-term strategy for participation and engagement in cultural and creative activities for marginalised migrant groups in Waterford City & County. Our primary objective in 2019 is exploration of this potential; to consolidate our ideas, thoughts and current provision into a cohesive and sustainable Social Enterprise Programme that aligns our mission with the objectives of Waterford Culture and Creativity Strategy 2018-2022 and development planning for the Waterford Cultural Quarter.
Working with an industry expert we will maximise the value of our new communities to enhance and animate local neighbourhoods, developing as we progress model of meaningful social integration to be shared with international partners.
