Midland Amenity Park CLG was founded in 2008 to develop the old ‘Cow Park’, a 27-acre plot of land beside Dún na Sí itself. This was traditionally a field available to locals for free grazing of livestock. Over the past twelve years, the old grazing grounds have been developed into an Amenity Park for the community and has become a hub, showcasing an existing community wildlife sanctuary which has presented an opportunity to combine environmental, heritage, cultural, educational and traditional aspects of Irish life, all in one place. Since completion, it has become a facility for all ages and cultural backgrounds within the midland’s region.
The Midland Amenity Park Mural will be located on an open wall within our heritage park. The mural will tell the story of living in rural Ireland through time, showing our nations strengths, culture, heritage and way of life through work, music, and dance, creatively painted onto a wall, 34 metre long X 10 foot high
