Ten pairs of participants consisting of an adult and child/young person aged between 8-12 will attend a series of creative musical instrument design workshops based around digital design and fabrication with Leitrim's very own Fab Lab. The project will take place over a series of Weekends at the W8 Centre in Manorhamilton. 

Taking inspiration from primitive instrument design, Victorian automata, Rube Goldberg machines and fairground attractions Fab Lab will task each pair to design and create a musical contraption that can be played at a final public performance.

During the workshop series each adult/child pair will be guided through all the important stages from research, design, 3D modelling, model making and final prototyping. In the workshops the participant's will be using a laser cutter, 3D printers, vinyl cutter and other Fab Lab technologies to create as many musical contraptions as they can !
