Na Cailleacha is a group of eight women who came together on residency in Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, Mayo in September 2020 to explore ‘what it means to be women who are getting older and arguably becoming invisible’ and to consider strategies to overcome negative patterns and behaviour. As a collective the group explored collaboratively their attitudes to ageing, their bodies, their place in the artworld and how they relate to culture and heritage as older women.
The following programme of activities are proposed to take place in 2021:
1. Doll Making Workshop at the National Museum of Ireland Country Life
2. Virtual Panel Discussion with the Guerilla Girls
3. Collaborative Print Project with the Guerilla Girls at Ballinglen Arts Foundation
