Our Crafting Community: Stitch & Sew Together
Building on BCDG’s successful Creative Ireland–funded projects in 2024 and 2025, Our Crafting Community – Stitch & Sew Together will deliver a programme of four creative workshops in Boher Parish Hall (BCP), bringing people of different ages together to learn, make and create.
The programme will include:
* Two adult patchwork workshops led by Geraldine Cahill of Giddygoat Patchwork
* Two children’s sewing workshops facilitated by visual artist Lynn Kenny
The workshops will be practical, welcoming and suitable for beginners, while also supporting skills development and creative confidence. Participants will work alongside professional artists in a relaxed, social setting that encourages peer learning and shared creativity.
As with previous BCDG Creative Ireland projects, older members of the community will be particularly encouraged to attend, enjoy refreshments, and share their skills and experience while working creatively alongside others. The project funded by Creative Ireland in 2025 led to the formation of a monthly Crafting Circle in Boher and it is hoped that this programme will help seed ongoing informal creative activity within the community beyond the funded period.
This project contributes directly to Our People’s Creativity and Our Creative Place by providing accessible opportunities for creative participation and by animating Boher Parish Hall (BCP) as a welcoming, inclusive creative space.
