With the help of Creative Ireland and Waterford City & County Council we present our project - Our Future is in our Past, bringing the Community together.

With the help of two local artists Marguerite Kent and John Bermingham our Project aims to engage with and capture some of the personalities of the older members of our community of Clonea Power, Rathgormack and Mothel expressed in the lines of their faces and hands as they recount tales of their youth, local history and folklore and how the locality influenced their lives etc. It is by way of documenting, through photography and audio recording, the unique elderly personalities of our area and preserving, in a small way, our local stories and storytelling history and traditions.

So many of their lives and stories go undocumented oftentimes only being recounted in an Eulogy at a funeral and we feel it is important to capture their stories, preserve them, learn from them and enjoy them.

Culminating in an Exhibition evening full of traditional music, tea/coffee, finger food and an opportunity to showcase our project with photographs, sound recording and video of the results to which all the Community will be invited.
