With the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic, audiences have been unable to enter museums, galleries and exhibition spaces to view art and creative endeavours.

Artists have not been able to exhibit and show case their work or reach audiences who are not using online or eservices. Waterford City and County Council are working to provide opportunities for artists and creatives to share their work with as wide an audience as possible throughout 2020 and into 2021 including supporting an art trail in vacant building windows, online exhibitions and webinars etc.

Use of outdoor all weather exhibition boards will be another aspect of supporting this objective. They will be placed in Waterford Cultural Quarter and in Waterford City Centre throughout the year using canvas printed posters and art graphics. Artists will be represented on a rotating basis and this project will support the place-making objective of the Waterford Cultural Quarter Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
