Pamphlet print run for documentation of INTERVENTIONS exhibition

Print of Pamphlet/artists book to document the exhibition INTERVENTIONS held at Castletown House during Heritage week 2021.  Pamphlet being designed and created to be submitted through an open call to Temple Bar Art Gallery Dublin Art Book Fair.

Interventions was an exhibition of works resulting from a research collaboration between Marie Phelan and Audrey Walshe carried out around Castletown House and Parklands, Celbridge, Co. Kildare exploring how custodianship held over place is manifested in a physical and cultural sense within a landscape. The work considered the motivations of the estates' former carers for change and advancement while examining how the place engages with the concerns of contemporary society. This exposed the conflicting nature of the past imperialist mindset and present ideas around ownership and the environment. The exhibition ran at Castletown House from Friday August 13th to Sunday August 15th 202, and included a film in the Coach House and a site specific botanical installation in Mrs Siddons. The basis for the collaboration was examined in an article published in Visual Artist Ireland newsletter in the May/June issue 2021.
