Pride of the Déise is an LGBTQIA+ pride festival celebrating Waterford’s inclusion and diversity. Our third annual event takes place 3rd - 6th June 2022.
Workshops in drumming and banner making will be hosted in the weeks running up to the pride parade and all are invited from the local community to attend and help build a vibrant and loud celebration in the heart of the city.
Friday the 3rd of June sees Queer Vision in the Garter Lane Arts Centre, a mini Film festival with local and international entries, followed by late night entertainment in The Mojo Lounge, 17 John Street, Waterford.
Saturday 4th opens with a host of community and arts workshops across Waterford followed by Waterford’s first Pride Parade in over a decade. This will end in a block party event in the Cultural Quarter featuring live music and entertainment.
Sunday 5th sees Pride of the Déise’s youth committee take control of programming with Gayrea 51 Youth pride parties in The Manor Street youth centre from 1pm.
On the Bank Holiday Monday, join our “Pride Ride” setting out on the Waterford Greenway from both Dungarvan and Waterford City to meet in Kilmacthomas for a rural pride celebration.
