Cavan County Museum is designing and producing panels that detail the history of the Great Irish Famine, 1845 - 1849, in County Cavan.
The Famine was partly due to the potato blight that destroyed the primary food source for the people. However, economic, political, social and, religious factors applied also. These panels will add to the Museum's indoor exhibitions and relay the unique stories of this period from both a local and national perspective.
