Promoting Craft Makers and Designers

Irelands cultural and creative sector has taken a huge hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of people have lost their jobs and thousands of businesses have lost all work for the foreseeable future.
Many businesses in these sectors can continue to do business and generate an income online – through selling products or services. However, the online space is becoming crowded and it is important for businesses to be able to differentiate themselves and stand apart to be attractive to existing and prospective clients.
Every year the craft and design sector has had access to pop up shops/ / LOCAL Food & Craft Fair / Dublin Flea Market / Showcase / Gifted / the Eyre Square Christmas Market and so on. There is also the option of using windows of retails shops to display goods but with the uncertainty of lock down this idea is not feasible and most retailers are currently endeavouring to go online.
We are proposing to take a 2 page spread in the November edition of the magazine Galway Now and feature a number of craft makers and designers with links to their websites.
We would also direct the readers to a link on the LEO website which will list all the craft makers and designers that the LEO has supported. Along with this advert we propose to make a short promotional video of craft and design makers – some speaking and showing their crafts and designs while promoting the strong sector in Galway city and encourage people to go
to go online and buy local.

Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
