Recovery of a Famine House

Recovery of a Famine Village: Clare Museum will continue their project that utilises their resources to engage with the community for the development of an authentic heritage experience.  A famine house site will be identified and targeted excavations will be conducted to shed light on life in mid-19th century Clare. The first phase of the excavation took place in 2019 and this will continue in 2020 under the guidance of Graham Hull of TVAS (Ireland). Volunteers from the local community will take part in this excavation.

The report of Phase One can be found at: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/claremuseum/education/tvas_report.pdf
