Remembering working life in Westmeath

This Oral History project – Remembering the Industries of Westmeath aims to record people’s memories about a range of industries and industrial life in Westmeath. Oral Historian Adrian Roche of The History Trail is working on the project. He is gathering stories and recollections of local industries that are quickly disappearing, or have already gone, and recording what it was like to carry out this work before those memories are lost. The interviews are being transcribed and summarised and these documents as well as the sound files will be given to the Local Studies collection in the County Library, where generations to come will be able to access and enjoy them.

Cds of the interviews will be given to the County Library along with transcripts and summaries of the interviews.
