Revive
Revive is a collaborative research project and exhibition focusing on the interrelationships between people, places, labour, and the environment. The project will examine how these relationships vary spatially and temporally across two locations; the rural museum in Kilrush and the local rural landscape.
Artist Catherine Hehir will lead a series of site-specific workshops with retired farmers from the community and museum staff. The workshops will consist of image and sound-gathering exercises. Visual and aural recordings will be made of participants discussing the Irish language, the environment, the changing landscape and using farming tools. Images and laser-cut shapes will be created from these recordings.
The images and sounds will be placed throughout the town of Kilrush and will be accessible by QR code using a digital device. An exhibition of work from the workshop will be placed in the creamery in Kilrush.
