The purpose of the conference is to celebrate and commemorate the life and works of internationally renowned Roscommon born artist Roderic O'Conor. The conference is part of Roscommon County Council's Arts plan and Visual Arts Programme and supported by Creative Ireland funding. It will also provide opportunities for the general public to view some of O'Conor's original works, on loan from various institutions at the Roscommon Arts Centre Gallery as part of Culture Night 2022 (Friday 23rd September).  The conference will serve to forge links with Roscommon Associations and Societies and the Diaspora to preserve our culture and creativity nationally and internationally.
