Ruaille Buaille: A new music commission

A new work will be commissioned for a musician and a spoken word artist to compose alongside the composer, performers and a class from Esker Educate Together NS, Lucan. The composer will have the work ready for performance and filming as part of the Cruinniú na nÓg South Dublin Programme and the Ruaille Buaille Festival, June '22. It will be performed live but will also be filmed for broadcast across various channels thus allowing schools, teachers, libraries and families to access it into the future.

Ruaille Buaille, Lucan Children's Music Festival is an annual event taking place in Lucan and its environs. Its focus is on the making, creating and listening to music of all genres for those aged 0 - 13 years and their adults. A primary goal of the festival is to encourage and promote the commissioning of new music for children of this age by engaging with composers, who have wide ranging experience in the area of music education and composition for children. Ruaille Buaille aims to lead in the field of commissioning and the festival programme will showcase this both at local level as well as to a wider audience.
