Safe Harbour
Safe Harbour is a creative project for the women and children living in Wexford Women’s Refuge. Using a therapeutic approach, artist Fernanda Ferrari will facilitate four arts and crafts workshops with the residents of the refuge as a way to promote healing and recovery. Participants will engage with and make puppets, pop-up books, self-portraits and vintage toys.
Building on the creativity developed in the workshops, the artist will create a new artwork for the centre (a new premises), adding a much-needed visual element to the children’ room and support room. Stimulating feelings of joy and fun, the artwork will promote Wexford Women’s Refuge’s efforts to provide a healing space for victims of Domestic Sexual and Gender Based Violence.
