Late night, late summer, open air film screenings in the Díseart Gardens – bring your family, your friends and your blankets!
A series of open air night-time film/TV screenings in the gardens. Working with local film and television makers to screen a short series of works which relate to Dingle town or to the peninsula, both in historical and in contemporary times.
The works shown will be sourced from the archives of such film makers as Dónal O Céileachair (The Camino Voyage), Niamh Ní Bhaoill who made the local series Caipíní which offers an insight into the traditional linguistic, cultural and musical wealth of the Dingle Peninsula, and Brenda Ní Shúileabháin who created the series Bibeanna about female singers from West Kerry. We will work with the Dingle Classic Film Society to source a range of home videos made in Dingle Town during the 40s and 50s.
These screenings will be presented free of charge to the public, the filmmakers will introduce their work and there will be opportunity for communal discussion and Q+A afterwards.
Please note that the details of events listed above are provided by the relevant Local Authorities.
