Shared Stories: Artistic Visions of Home and Beyond
The project entails art workshops where and immigrant group (12-14 adults) from Ballymahon create scrapbooks, reflecting on their pre-Ireland lives and current experiences. Facilitated by Anna Wiercioch, sessions occur in a welcoming community space with ample art supplies for 6 weeks (2 hours a week). Participants, representing diverse cultural backgrounds, engage in creative expression to document their personal narratives. Targeting immigrant communities, the project aims to foster cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and social cohesion. Desired outcomes include empowering participants through self-expression, building empathy, and strengthening community bonds. This initiative aligns with fostering cultural enrichment, social inclusion, and community engagement, enriching the cultural fabric of Ireland through shared stories and experiences. Participants will use different mediums, photographs, prints and fabrics to make their project.
